How to install

FILMERA isn't on the Play Store yet, so Android will ask you to confirm the install.

  1. Download the APKTap "Download for Android" on your phone. If Chrome warns that the file might be harmful, tap "Download anyway".
  2. Open itTap the downloaded file in your notifications or your Downloads folder.
  3. Allow installs from this sourceIf asked, tap Settings, turn on "Allow from this source", then go back.
  4. Install and open FILMERAIf Play Protect asks to scan the app, let it. Then tap Install and Open.
  5. Allow accessThe app explains each permission and asks for it on the "Allow access" screen.

Permissions

Only what the app needs. FILMERA has no internet permission.

REQUIRED

Camera

Live preview and filters. Frames are processed on the phone and never sent anywhere.

OPTIONAL

Microphone

Adds sound to videos. Used only while you're recording.

ANDROID 9 AND OLDER

Storage

Saves captures to your gallery. Newer Android versions don't need this.

What it doesn't do

FILMERA can't put live filters inside WhatsApp or Instagram video calls. Android only lets system apps replace the camera other apps see. Instead, record or snap with FILMERA and share. Built-in FILMERA calls with live filters are on the roadmap.
